Description
Description
The MB Quart NA2-400.2 Nautic Compact is a 400-watt, two-channel Powersports amplifier designed for compact marine installations where clean power and simple setup matter. Built for boat and powersports audio enthusiasts, it delivers efficient Class D performance with onboard tuning to shape your marine front end.
- Power output: 2 x 200 W at 2 Ω or 2 x 100 W at 4 Ω (400 W total). In real-world use, you can run two channels for front speakers with high efficiency at low impedance, or pair channels for a bridged mono application when more output is needed.
- Class / topology: Full Range Class D. This topology provides higher efficiency and reduced heat in tight marine spaces, helping to sustain performance during long boating sessions.
- Marine protection: IPX5 rating and conformal-coated PCBs. The enclosure is designed to withstand spray and moisture exposure typical in boats, while the coated boards resist corrosion.
- On-board equalization: Bass boost 0–12 dB at 45 Hz, subsonic filter at 60 Hz, and a 12 dB/Octave low-pass crossover with a selectable FULL/LPF/HPF. Real-world tuning lets you tailor the amp to your cabin or wakeboard speaker array and the rest of the system.
- Crossover / inputs: Electronic crossover with full/LPF/HPF options and 1 pair RCA nickel-plated inputs; supports secure, high-temperature connections via hex-screw terminals.
- Protection & indicators: Three-stage protection (thermal, overload, DC, and short) with LED indicators on the end panel to alert you to issues during operation.
- Power supply & cooling: PWM MOSFET-based power supply with an aluminum heatsink and a Simpatico coil design for stable voltage, enabling reliable performance into lower impedances and in warm environments.
- Connectivity: Quick Disconnect wires and nickel-plated connections; 12 V/GND power terminals use Molex 10 GA wiring for robust, secure installations.
- Fusing: 30 A fuse (x1) to protect the amp and wiring harness in typical marine electrical setups.
- Frequency response: 20 Hz–20 kHz, ensuring full-range audio coverage for marine sound systems.
Benefits: The NA2-400.2 pairs well with compact two-way front stages or bridged mono configurations for single-channel power in tight bow or cockpit layouts. Its onboard EQ and low-noise preamp help you dial in clarity in environments with engine and wind noise, while the IPX5 rating and conformal-coated circuitry protect against spray and humidity. Quick-connect wiring and secure RCA inputs simplify installation and enable easy removal for winterizing or security checks.
